Researchers are not always able to visit Archives New Zealand's reading rooms. It is with this in mind that we provide advice and copying services to those who cannot visit us.
Archives New Zealand has a variety of digital and digitised records. Access to digital surrogates of some of our most popular and fragile archives can be found on Archway. Digital copies can also be provided on request. This aspect of Archives New Zealand’s practice is growing and researchers can expect to see more archives made available digitally.
Archives New Zealand also offers research services for people who cannot visit our reading rooms. We can assist researchers by suggesting records that may be helpful to their research, checking indexes that are not available online or delivering copies of specific records to their home.
Please note that research and copying timeframes can differ between each Archives New Zealand office and often fluctuates in times of high demand.
