It is not always possible for researchers to visit the Archives New Zealand reading rooms, and it is with this in mind that we provide advice and copying services to those who cannot visit us.
Archives New Zealand also has a variety of digital and digitised records. Access to digital surrogates of some of our most popular and fragile archives can be found on Archway, or digital copies can be provided on request. This aspect of Archives New Zealand’s practice is a growing one and researchers can expect to see further archives made available digitally with time.
Archives New Zealand offers research services for people who cannot visit our reading rooms. We can assist researchers unable to visit our reading rooms by suggesting records that may be helpful to their research, checking indexes that are not available online or delivering copies of specific records to your home.
Please note that research and copying timeframes can differ between each Archives New Zealand office and will also fluctuate in times of high demand.
