The Rt Hon Richard John Seddon, often referred to as 'King Dick', was the longest serving leader of New Zealand (1893-1906). For five successive election terms he dominated New Zealand politics and at his peak he exercised almost one-man, one-party rule (with his Liberal Party).
The Seddon collection contains numerous Christmas Cards that he sent out in an official capacity during the 1895-1902 period.
