As part of our commitment to improve understanding of current recordkeeping and information management issues within government, Archives New Zealand supports recordkeepers, and staff responsible for recordkeeping and information management, to develop their skills and knowledge through:

Government Recordkeeping Forums: Archives New Zealand runs regular government recordkeeping forums in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin. The forums allow people working in government agencies to discuss current recordkeeping issues, hear current updates from Archives New Zealand, network with others in the same field, and share ideas and concerns with Archives New Zealand.

Government Recordkeeping Training: Archives New Zealand offers courses to support recordkeeping across the state sector and local government. The courses aim to develop knowledge and skills in individual recordkeeping staff, and raise awareness of The Public Records Act (PRA).

Future Perfect 2012: Digital Preservation by Design: Archives New Zealand is organinsing a conference focused on Digitial Preservation. The Digital Preservation by Design theme of the Future Perfect 2012 conference seeks to stimulate discussion about how, when and why influencing the design of systems can support digital preservation and ultimately ensure that today’s information is available tomorrow.

Training Opportunities Directory: A listing of training opportunities in New Zealand for records and information staff. Training includes: short courses, formal qualifications, seminars/forums and conferences.
