Archives New Zealand has developed a programme of exciting courses to support overall recordkeeping and archives management capability within state sector, local government, schools, businesses , iwi Māori, Pasifika, sports clubs and community organisations.
The courses are aimed at records and information management personnel, staff who have responsibility for recordkeeping and business systems, and those who care for archives.

Archives New Zealand runs its courses on a cost recovery basis. We require a minimum of eight attendees to run the course excluding Introduction to Archives which requires sixteen attendees .
The cost for each course is listed below:
Introduction to the Public Records Act 2005 (1 day) $380.00 +GST
Appraisal and Disposal of Public Records (2 days) $650.00 +GST
The Public Records Act and Local Government
Records and Archives (2 days) $650.00 +GST
Transfer Workshop (1/2 day) $200.00 +GST
Introduction to Digitisation (1 day) $380.00 +GST
Recordkeeping Metadata (1 day) $380.00 +GST
Recordkeeping in Business Systems -

Introduction to Archives (2 days) $95.65 + GST
To register for one of Archives New Zealand’s courses download the registration form here, fill it in, and either fax it to 04 495 6210 or email it to us
We will email you confirmation of your registration within a week of receiving your registration.
Should you be unable to attend a course, a substitute from your organisation is welcome to attend in your place, at no extra charge.
Alternatively we will refund your payment in full following receipt of written advice of withdrawal, up to 10 working days before the course. Any withdrawals after this time will not receive a refund.
Course attendees are responsible for their own travel and accommodation bookings.

Public and Local Authority training courses are delivered by Information leadership and a representative of Archives New Zealand will also attend to help out with questions etc…
*A full day course: $4560 excluding GST. This is based on 12 attendees for the course.
We recommend no more than 18 max for one session. The price is based on the organisation providing both venue and catering (if needed). We can change the current slides we use to fit what you require.
