Internal Affairs/Archives Integration
- On 1 February, Archives NZ became part of the Knowledge, Information, Research and Technology (KIRT) branch of Department of Internal Affairs
- Wider strengths with Govt CIO, National Library and Government Technology Services in KIRT
- Updated Public Records Act 2005 is available online
- Greg Goulding is the new Chief Archivist as of April 4th
- Government recordkeeping services to public sector continue as usual (or better!)

Government Digital Archive Programme
- Technical team established
- Contract signed off with supplier of digital preservation system
- Business being analysed
- Release one scheduled for January 2012
- Archives New Zealand now working collaboratively with others to achieve goals
- Thank you to those who have participated in workshops so far –more to come!

Public Records Act Audit Programme Update
People:
- Wendy Stokes is Acting Manager, PRA Audit Team
Status:
- 2010/2011 round of audits nearly completed
- 2011/2012 programme is well underway
Focus:
- Completion of reports for the 2010/2011 audit clients
- Fine tuning of audit process and tools
- Parliamentary audit findings report

- Continuum Website has been decommissioned - please update any favourites/bookmarks you may have

New Continuum tool on Digital Records
- Mapping database (that is, a spreadsheet)
- Developed to support Digital Recordkeeping Standard
- Maps between Digital Recordkeeping Standard (ICA-Req) requirements and Public Records Act requirements, including all mandatory standards
- Shows how Digital Recordkeeping Standard / ICA-Req modules 2 and 3 fit within the New Zealand recordkeeping environment

- Supports the new Digital Recordkeeping Standard
- Based on International Council on Archives – Module 3

Christchurch Earthquake - Impact
- Archives New Zealand staff in Christchurch are safe
- The Christchurch office of Archives New Zealand located at 90 Peterborough Street is closed until further notice.
- We will keep you informed as to when the office will reopen to the public

Christchurch Earthquake - Response
- Have contacted all 52 agencies with offices in CHCH.
- 14 agencies badly affected – offices destroyed, many records damaged
- Archives NZ has small team working to assist public sector agencies and community archives
- Plans to release a new General Disposal Authority in response to the Christchurch Earthquake
