Archives New Zealand operates a Library containing material on archives and records management. The Library is available to subscribers by appointment.

The Preservation Section includes professional conservators and conservation technicians who provide advice on general conservation care or on specialised care of specific archival media types. Staff also provide advice on disaster preparedness, planning and salvage. Consultancy services are available on a charged basis including:
