Digitisation Toolkit

Summary

The Chief Archivist has adopted and issued AS/NZS ISO 13028: 2012, Information and documentation - Implementation guidelines for digitization of records, as a discretionary standard under the Public Records Act 2005.

The Chief Archivist has also issued an Authority to retain digitised public records in electronic form only under s25(2) of the Electronic Transactions Act 2002.

This toolkit is also comprised of two sets of Explanatory Notes; one for public offices and one for local authorities, technical specifications for short-term retention records, and a checklist.
