As Programme Manager Alison Fleming is responsible for leading and managing the Government Digital Archive Programme through to delivery. She is responsible for planning and designing the programme as well as overseeing day to day operations. Alison joined Archives New Zealand in 2008 as the Information and Communication Services Group Manager and Chief Information Officer. Alison was appointed Programme Manager for the Government Digital Archive Programme in February 2011.

Born and bred in Wellington, Alison has worked in information technology within the public sector at many levels. She has previously worked in the Department of Internal Affairs as the General Manager Information and Facilities, in the Department of Conservation as the Chief Information Officer, and in a variety of senior management roles in the tertiary education sector. Alison is a Member of the New Zealand Computer Society, an Associate Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Management, an Information Technology Certified Professional (ITCP), and holds qualifications in management, enterprise IT governance and Managing Successful Programmes.

Laurinda Thomas is Public Sector Digital Continuity Manager at Archives New Zealand. The Digital Continuity team is part of the wider Government Digital Archive Programme. Work is focused on refining processes and enabling change both within Archives New Zealand and in public sector agencies using the Government Digital Archive. Her team is developing strategies, capability and systems for maintenance and preservation of digital information across New Zealand’s government.

Laurinda trained in and then started her professional life as a librarian at Victoria University of Wellington. Since then she has worked in London as a consultant helping organisations implementing and using library software. Laurinda comes to Archives New Zealand from the Ministry of Science and Innovation where she held a number of information and management roles.
