Greg Goulding is Acting Chief Archivist and Chief Executive of Archives New Zealand. Greg has worked for Archives New Zealand and its predecessor National Archives, since 1989.
Prior to assuming the acting Chief Executive role, Greg was Group Manager, Government Recordkeeping. He has worked across the department, in archival, corporate and management roles.
He has a BA (Hons) from Canterbury University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Information Management from the University of New South Wales.
Greg Goulding says key work for Archives New Zealand includes implementing the Public Records Act 2005 which provides a sound framework for effective recordkeeping across government. The 2010 Public Records Act Audit Programme and the implementation of the Digital Continuity Action Plan will make a significant contribution to improving public agency recordkeeping.
The department will streamline service delivery through collaboration with both public and private sector agencies and continue to digitise public archives so more people can access these vital records from more locations through the internet. Smarter customer-focused services will help ensure public records are more readily available now and in the future.
