“We are largely the public face of the Archives New Zealand team. Due to the volume of customers/researchers we assist, there is always an opportunity to learn something new every day.
An important part of my job is to help people get the best out of our resources here at the Archives. We get a lot of instant gratification from helping people find files that may bring light to an unknown part of a family tree, or focus to a PhD dissertation or book.
Archives internationally are going through great changes in terms of the public wanting digital access to collections. We're working hard to make this happen across different types of records in our collection (files, photographs and moving image). It is an exciting time of challenge”
